Players are selected by reviewing scouting sheets and visiting home town games. After coaches have been contacted and athletes commit to playing in the showcase, the committee divides out the talent and compiles teams. “The idea is to keep the talent level,” Winarick said. When asked what his biggest goal was for this year’s event, Winarick said he wanted the athletes to have fun and to benefit the hall of fame as much as possible. “I want to make sure 100% of proceeds go to the hall of fame because they have provided such an opportunity for these kids.” Support the Texas ShootOut by attending the games on May 5. Tickets are only $5 for anyone over the age of nine, and free for anyone younger than nine-years-old.
