It’s that time of the week. We’ve all pressed through a tough work week and tomorrow marks the start of college football. Baylor – Meeting Rice for the 80th time, the game will be in Baylor’s McLane Stadium where the Bears are currently 7-0 and win by an average of 32.1 points. Since leaving the SWC, Baylor is 8-0 against former SWC opponents (5-0 v SMU and 3-0 v Rice).

​Rice – The last time Rice beat a ranked team on the road? Against Baylor when the Owls defeated the #8 Bears 20-17 at Floyd Casey in 1991.

Houston – With a win Saturday, Tom Herman could become just the second coach in Houston history to start their career 3-0 (John Jenkins, 1990). After defeating Louisville on the road, Herman already joined Jenkins and College Football Hall of Famer Bill Yeoman as the only Cougar coaches to start their career 2-0.

SMU – The Mustangs are coming back to the Hilltop to host James Madison as their Homecoming opponent in their 100th Anniversary Celebration. SMU is 42-42-3 in Homecoming games since the tradition started in 1926. James Madison is no soft opponent, the Dukes come into the game ranked #8 in the STATS FCS Poll and #9 in the FCS Coaches Poll.

The Aggies will be looking to beat the Razorbacks four years in a row. Something TAMU hasn't done since their 1939 National Title.

TAMU – Texas A&M senior Sam Moeller of San Antonio will tie Nick Lamantia’s record for number of games as the 12th Man this weekend when the Aggies face Arkansas in Arlington. Lamantia had 30 starts as the 12th Man. The rest of the Aggie squad looks to remain perfect in the Sumlin era in neutral site games (5-0).

TCU – Whose side are you on anyways? TCU Co-offensive Coordinator, Sonny Cumbie, has played a key role on both sides of the Texas Tech-TCU rivalry game. As a player with the Red Raiders in 2004, Cumbie quarterbacked a team that scored the most points ever allowed by a Gary Patterson led TCU team. Cumbie’s Raiders won 70-35. Last year, as a TCU coach, Cumbie helped lead the Horned Frogs to an 82-27 victory, the most points ever scored in the series on either side.

Texas State – The Bobcats travel to Houston this weekend to face the Cougars. Texas State leads the series with Houston 4-1.

Texas Tech – Leading the all-time series against TCU 30-24-3, Texas Tech is looking to continue their streak of four straight victories against the Horned Frogs when playing in Lubbock. Tech has not lost to TCU in Jones AT&T since 1991.

​UNT – In the “Fry Bowl” (in honor of Texas legend Hayden Fry), UNT will be facing Iowa in a tough road matchup. UNT needs a win to avoid their first winless September since 2008. With a win, Iowa will have their first 4-0 start since 2009.

​UT – While UT leads the series with Oklahoma State 24-5, other numbers are not in favor of the Longhorns. The Cowboys are 3-2 against the ‘Horns over the last five seasons and, since 2009, OKST is 23-6 when playing teams from the Lone Star State.

UTEP – The Miners’ senior return specialist Autrey Golden has six kickoff return touchdowns in his career which makes him the active leader in FBS football.

​UTSA – This weekend’s matchup marks the Roadrunners’ 50th all-time game in program history and their 30th consecutive game against an FBS opponent.
