Charean Williams
A trailblazer in the NFL coverage and known by some as “Mother Football”, Charean Williams is currently in her 29th year covering the NFL, and her 6th year at Pro Football Talk. Before joining Pro Football Talk, the Texas A&M graduate worked for the Bryan - College Station Eagle and the Orange Leader in Texas. She then left the Lone Star State to begin her career covering the NFL, covering the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the Orlando Sentinel (1994 - 99) and the Dallas Cowboys for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram (1999-2017). In 2007, Williams became one of the two first female members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame selection committee. This wasn’t the only first for Williams, as she served as the first female president of the Pro Football Writers Association during the 2009-10 NFL seasons and became the first female to win the McCann Award in 2018. Williams was inducted into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame in 2020
