2023 SWC Hall of Fame Class Announced

WACO, TX- The Texas Sports Hall of Fame (TSHOF) is proud to announce the nine new members to be inducted into the Southwest Conference Hall of Fame: Kevin Scanlon (Arkansas), Terry Teagle (Baylor), Jolanda Jones (Houston), Ken Stadel (Rice), Amy Benz (SMU), Shaun Jordan (Texas), Terry Price (Texas A&M), Bubba Thornton (TCU) and Gary Ashby (Texas Tech).

On Tuesday, June 6th, the Texas Sports Hall of Fame Selection Committee met to create both the Primary and Veterans Ballot for the Class of 2024 inductees.

Today, the Texas Sports Hall of Fame announced the names on the 2024 ballot for induction in the Texas Sports Hall of Fame. See the official list of nominees below.

WACO, TX- Seven-time Cy Young Award winner Roger Clemens will be the guest speaker at the Texas Sports Hall of Fame on Friday, May 19, for the Texas Sports Hall of Fame’s next Lone Star Luncheon.
Clemens Cy Young's awards are unmatched, and he is the only MLB pitcher ever to collect at least 350 wins and more than 4500 strikeouts. He played 24 seasons in the MLB as one of the most dominant pitchers in baseball, throwing for the Red Sox, Blue Jays, Yankees, and Astros.

Houston Astros Trophy Tour

WACO, TX- The Texas Sports Hall of Fame is hosting the World Series Commissioner's Trophy as part of the Astros Championship Trophy Tour presented by Woodforest National Bank.

The trophy will be on display at the Texas Sports Hall of Fame Friday, May 19 from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m.

TSHOF Announces Class of 2023

WACO, TEXAS- The Board of Directors of the Texas Sports Hall of Fame is pleased to announce the eight selected individuals who will be inducted into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame on April 15, 2023. The Class of 2023 was selected by ballot through a statewide selection committee. Votes from TSHOF members, inductees, board members and selection committee, were tabulated by Simply Voting.

New Summer Exhibit at the Texas Sports Hall of Fame-"Paul Richards: A Baseball Life"

WACO, TX- The Texas Sports Hall of Fame is featuring a new exhibit about Waxahachie native & 1959 TSHOF Inductee, Paul Richards. The "Paul Richards: A Baseball Life" exhibit will be on display inside the TSHOF now and will run through Spring 2023.

This exhibit is the result of a very large donation of baseball memorabilia from the estate of Mr. Richards’ daughter in Nevada. Boxes and boxes of material including catcher’s mitts, baseballs, bats, trophies and autographed photos and memorabilia from the 1961 MLB All-Star games (there were two per season back then) that he was selected to manage.

mEDIA iNDUCTION BANQUET

After several months of rescheduling due to COVID-19, we finally have a date for the TSHOF Media Induction Banquet honoring the Class of 2020!
The eight media members will join the Texas Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday, May 21st in Waco, Texas at the Texas Sports Hall of Fame's Great Hall.
The banquet will begin at 6 p.m. following the reception at 5:30 p.m.

2022 Induction Banquet Update

WACO, TEXAS- Due to scheduling conflicts, Michael Strahan has informed the TSHOF that he will not be able to join the Class of 2022 as originally planned for the 61st Annual Texas Sports Hall of Fame Induction Banquet on Saturday, March 12, 2022.
The banquet and reception will still go on as scheduled with an outstanding class of inductees. The 2022 inductees include Bob Beamon, Chris Bosh, Robert Griffin III, Tony Parker, Carly Patterson, Mike Renfro, Suzie Snider Eppers, and Stacy Sykora.
