TSHOF Partners With Unique Senior Bowl
The Texas Sports Hall of Fame has entered into a promotional partnership with the Pro Football Hall of Fame Texas vs. The Nation Collegiate All-Star Bowl. The game, which will be held in El Paso, Texas on February 6, 2010, pits native Texan and Texas Collegiate seniors against standout seniors from around the Nation.
The TSHOF is joining the Bowl Game in its infancy; the contest in February will be only the 4th game in the event's history. The TSHOF hopes to create a buzz for the game, and has made numerous plans to help promote the All-Star battle.
“We are going to have a permanent exhibit case here in the lobby at the TSHOF,” said Jay Black, Curator of the TSHOF. “The exhibit will feaute game balls, programs, jerseys and other memorabelia from the game.”
The game provides a chance for NFL scouts to get one more look at possible draft picks that could help their team in the upcoming year. Team Nation defeated Texas last year 27-24. The two team’s rosters combined to produce 25 NFL draft picks.
Frantz Joseph of Florida Atlantic University (Team Nation) was named the 2009 Defensive MVP.
Team Texas will be led by former Dallas Cowboy star Bill Bates.
Team Nation will call on former University of Miami coach Howard Schellenberger to coach their squad.
FREE WATCH PARTY
The TSHOF will host a watch party for the game, which is being aired at 2:00 pm on CBS College Sports Network, Saturday, February 6th. The game will be shown free to the public at the TSHOF, and other promotional activities are planned.
