Texas Sports HOF Executive Director Steve Fallon Announces Retirement

Steve Fallon, Executive Director of the Texas Sports Hall of Fame, is announcing his retirement from the museum.  He has served as Executive Director since 1997.

During his 17-year tenure Fallon has overseen numerous successes at the museum, most notably an expansion that doubled the size of the facility in 2010. He has been instrumental in the implementation of the Annual Induction Banquet, the Bob Lilly Celebrity Golf Tournament, the Night at the Races event and The Legends of the Hall Dinner. He also helped to improve the museum’s financial stability and increased attendance.

Fallon recently recovered with a clean bill of health from a bout with colon cancer. “I have two young children and a beautiful wife that I want to spend more time with," said Fallon. "Resigning at this time will allow that for me,”.

Fallon will officially step down as director on March 1, 2014.

The Executive Committee of the Texas Sports Hall of Fame’s Board of Trustees accepted the resignation with regret and extends best wishes to Fallon and his family. During the interim, beginning March 1st , Jay Black will assume Steve Fallon's responsibilities at the Texas Sports Hall of Fame.
